McGruff's ABCs of Crime Prevention

Client: TMD Promotions/National Crime Prevention Council

McGruff’s ABCs of Child Safety was the program that launched d’Vinci Interactive. It features McGruff the Crime Dog, and its mission was to teach basic safety to children in a fun and educational way. The project died a premature death due to a lack of funding, but the strength of the designs and the engaging interactions served as great examples of d’Vinci’s capabilities, and it helped lead to bigger and better jobs.

As a licensee of the National Crime Prevention Council, we worked with TMD Promotions of Burlington, Ontario, who provided us with the textual content and ideas for interactions.

This program featured custom graphics designed to appeal to young children while staying within the National Crime Prevention Council guidelines. It also featured very complex interactions to challenge children and keep them engaged.

We created all of graphics (2D and 3D) and performed all the Authorware programming. In addition, we developed the graphical environment to best portray the concepts of this learning activity to the target audience.
