Solution One (Internet Integration)

Client: Technology Learning Solutions, Inc. (TLS)

The internet and other technological advances are revolutionizing classroom instruction. With the click of a mouse, students and teachers are connected to vast resources of information that enhance the learning experience beyond any previous generation’s wildest imagination. But for teachers, this potential comes with sobering, often daunting considerations, including student/computer ratios, internet security precautions, and lesson plan restructuring. Developed for Technology Learning Solutions, Inc., this cross-platform CD-ROM provides solutions to these and other important considerations. This course’s goal is to educate teachers in cutting-edge methods for utilizing the internet and other technologies in their classrooms.

To make learning fun and inspire the most skeptical teachers, this CD touts a retro-styled, comic book look and feel, using light-hearted, fully narrated characters and game-like interactions. Users are empowered with specific techniques and then challenged to “jump out” of the CD periodically to implement those techniques within their classrooms.

Originally created to fulfill continuing education requirements for teachers in Memphis, Tennessee, the CD is now in distribution nationwide due to its initial enthusiastic reception.
