Educating Municipal Leaders about Disasters
Pennsylvania municipalities need to be prepared to manage disasters in their communities. After a series of nine educational modules, local government leaders know how to declare a disaster, assess damage, evaluate flood damage, issue permits and handle inspections, and facilitate temporary federal housing and communicate with residents. The course was created in partnership with subject matter experts from the Pennsylvania Municipal League and sponsored by The Governor’s Center for Local Government Services.
