d’Vinci Partners with RIF to Launch New Literacy Central Portal

Just in time for back-to-school, Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) has launched a new online portal to help educators, parents and community volunteers with reading and literacy outreach. d’Vinci Interactive partnered with RIF to create Literacy Central, featuring thousands of free digital resources that support popular children’s books.

Literacy Central The free online resources include lesson plans, activities, and leveled reading passages designed to help build literacy development in children. d’Vinci also created interactive puzzle games that promote reading in the online portal.

To support RIF’s literacy efforts, McDonald’s tied into Literacy Central through its Happy Meal Books program in September. Children received a copy of "Pete the Cat's Got Class," "Amelia Bedelia's First Day of School," "Just A School Project" and "If You Take a Mouse to School" in their Happy Meals and can extend the learning through fun resources on Literacy Central.

d’Vinci will continue to add new features to Literacy Central including a Literacy Central App. Later this Fall, d'Vinci will launch Literacy Tracker, an online literacy assessment tool to support and track reading progress, and a puzzlemaker tool, among other literacy-focused resources.

In addition to Literacy Central, d’Vinci also redesigned RIF’s website,, and created a new Literacy Network. The Literacy Network site is aimed at the RIF community and helps corporate partners, volunteers, book providers and sponsors support literacy efforts. On this site, visitors can log volunteer hours to provide data to RIF, show project progress, learn about grants, and explore literacy facts on a state-specific interactive map.
