d’Vinci has received the 2021 Gold Hermes Creative Award for Web-Based Training for the Opioid Awareness Seminar course it created for the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center (NCTC) and the Pennsylvania Counterdrug Joint Training Center (PA-CJTF).
The course focuses on national, statewide, and local trends relating to heroin, prescription opioids, and other opioid compounds. Designed to reach law enforcement, educators, counselors, school staff, healthcare professionals, and members of community-based organizations throughout the United States, the training covers the history of opioids, the science of pain, and examples of opioid use and addiction. The audience also learns to identify symptoms of addiction and possible overdose. The training also connects learners to additional resources and community prevention/treatment programs available in their location. This course is available at no charge for those who register at nctc.counterdrug.org.
The Opioid Awareness Seminar is part of an educational effort to fight domestic and transnational drug trafficking organizations. d’Vinci also implemented its ecoLearn® LMS framework for NCTC and PA-CJTF.
Through the LMS, the NCTC distributes courses that further its mission to reduce the availability of illicit drugs, improve public safety, and diminish drug use. Using the ecoLearn® LMS, NCTC team members manage training requests, certify instructor-led and online courses, and analyze valuable training feedback and data relevant to drug abuse prevention.
