Building Inclusion through Online Learning
d’Vinci works with Sandy Hook Promise to help students learn how to create a culture of inclusion and keep schools safe with this (K-5) online educational curriculum we developed. The national non-profit is led by family members whose loved ones were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. Through video training, interactive experiences, and learning games children in grades K-5 explore how to reduce bullying, isolation and depression to reduce violent acts in schools. Educators from across the country register to use the materials and can manage multiple virtual classrooms and create unique assignments based on their student needs. Students access the educational materials in class or from home through a unique Student Portal where they receive recognition for their progress. The ADA-compliant website securely records student, teacher and school-level data through the Drupal-based web application. Extensive educator guides and support materials are available.
d'Vinci also created the Say Something online educational experience for students in grades 5-12 and another experience for younger elementary school students. Through educational videos, students learn to identify peers who may be at-risk of hurting themselves or others and to “say something” to a trusted adult or call 911.
