Microlearning eLearning Modules

Using Microlearning to Educate Excavators on Damage Prevention

Common Ground Alliance (CGA), a national nonprofit trade association dedicated to safeguarding underground utility infrastructure and the communities around it, teamed up with d’Vinci to develop a best-in-class online excavator education damage prevention curriculum.

The Learning Strategy

Working closely with CGA and a panel of subject matter experts, d’Vinci crafted a comprehensive learning strategy that serves as a blueprint for the curriculum's development. This strategy encompasses business objectives, audience analysis, key topics, learning outcomes, curriculum structure, delivery formats, and assessment methods.

eLearning Module Development

The resulting curriculum features over 45 microlearning modules, designed to provide excavation professionals with essential knowledge on safe digging practices and CGA’s damage prevention best practices. To address the diverse needs of a nationwide audience, d’Vinci employed a microlearning approach, allowing learners to customize their educational experience by focusing on areas where they have knowledge and experience gaps.

Developed using Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise, the modules are enhanced with professional voiceover narration, live-action interviews, custom motion graphics, Vyond video scenarios, and interactive simulations, ensuring a rich and engaging learning experience. Furthermore, all modules are offered in Spanish and include closed captioning.
